New York Fashion Week Fall 2011-12

I'm not a huge fan of New York Fashion week because the clothes here are so commercial, runways are boring, and a chokeful of young designers still in the making.Well , not if you have Anna Wintour's back like

Alexander Wang
This is the first season Alexander has convinced me "I'm good". His clothes are I think the coolest out there yet. Hybrids of everything.Sweaters became dresses, jackets became ponchos, tuxedos became bombers and a lot more, which is, technically I think difficult to achieve. And what can you say about the fur-armed glasses?

Marc Jacobs
Now, Marc Jacobs is the most overrated designer in the world. His collection for spring 2011 was a blah and critics were calling it one of the best when it was so do-it-yourself.For his fall outing, this is a collection.Everything with polka dots but just the right balance enough to give a little humor and the construction of his clothes here are by far better than last season's.The lace dresses also are fantastic, although it kind of reminded of Prada's collection for 2008 fall.

Rodarte
Finally, women designers. This duo,Kate and Laura Mulleavy, is  one New York's cream of the crop. This season, the idea of a wheatfield print on dresses are so emotional,it's like walking on a real wheatfield in different weather conditions.i have to post them all here.
the big but in this collection are the reds.what are they doing there?

Thom Browne
I have no words to describe this collection but WOW. "Who is going to wear this?" is the question yet to be answered. The styling here is too much, much more for New York, but separating the pieces here could work anything in your closet. Most of the pieces here are pure editorial, like who wants to look like an Easter egg.
Proof, Thom is more than a pair of his famous cropped gray suit.

Christian Siriano
The Project Runway winner.Christian can make clothes, sure, but I don't think he has this vision yet. He has to find this look he can call his own, at least, because his latest collection is full of that-is-by references.I'm not an expert here but browsing the pictures I can see Margiela, Riccardo Tisci, Lanvin, McQueen, Giambatista Valli. Also, one of the worse color palette this season
