New York Fashion Week Fall 2011-12 part 2

Theyskens' Theory
It's so sad to imagine the talented but underrated designer Olivier Theyskens only now designing for Theory. I was such a big fan of his at Rochas and Nina Ricci.I don't know why up to this date he isn't creating a label of his own.Anyway this collection seems to blend the 3 labels together. The romanticism he injected at the house of Rochas is certainly present here with those dresses and really roomy pants and some coats.

Marchesa
I have always admired the creations of these two beautiful ladies for their label Marchesa.Like when they design clothes they already have the person who will be wearing it.Their collection, as always, is very detailed and you can always see how much time they put into making each of them.I like when designers are this careful making clothes. Each detail is well thought and results in an haute couture feel.very few young designer take this road right. They're all after commercialism. Not these ladies.

Proenza Schouler
Jack and Lazaro are one of the reasons i follow NYFW.Their clothes are just beautiful. This is the kind of tribal dressing, which, if i were a woman i'd be wearing. It looked so cool and easy.

Calvin Klein

I don't know why Francisco Costa's clothes for Calvin Klein are so boring at the same time interesting.Maybe because he only knows 5 colors in his hands, lol, but the construction of his clothes are one the best out there.Look at those silhouettes.Form fitting on the front, loose on the back.Although this is a bit Balenciaga but he kind of made it his own by bringing minimalism in the garments.I love this guy.

Helmut Lang
The man we all miss.I have always been a fan of things that don't seem to work together but resulted in good way.like this presentation for Helmut Lang. Those hard jackets over the really soft dresses. One commented on my styling for a contest at SAKS that the coat i used din't do anything/killed (with) the soft dress underneath because it goes against what the dress is all about.No.Very nice job Colovoses.
